On Monday, July 1st, GOLDPoint Systems’ parent company, DHI Computing Service, Inc., celebrated its 70th anniversary! To commemorate this important occasion, DHI held an anniversary event for its employees that afternoon. Provo Mayor Michelle Kaufusi and US Representative John Curtis, notable local dignitaries, participated in the celebration.
70 years is a long time and quite the accomplishment. There aren’t many companies that survive past five years, let alone thrive for 70. And here at GOLDPoint Systems, we are proud to be part of such a successful tradition. We all loved celebrating with B. Lynn Crandall, DHI’s CEO, commemorating the history that has made DHI and GOLDPoint Systems what they are today. We look forward to a very bright future.
A History of DHI Computing Service, Inc.
DHI was founded in 1954 by Bliss H. Crandall as the first data processor west of the Mississippi. DHI began as a family business operating out of the basement of the Crandall home in Logan, Utah. Bliss Crandall, then Assistant Director of the Statistical Laboratory at Utah State University, worked with Lyman Rich to develop the first system for automating the processing of dairy management records using IBM punch card equipment and tabulators. News of the innovative system spread throughout the dairy industry, and DHI quickly became the premiere choice for dairy record processing throughout the United States.
In 1955, DHI moved to Provo, Utah. They continued to excel in data processing and became known as “Utah Valley’s Original High-tech Company.” In 1964, DHI’s reputation generated interest from members of the banking industry. This led to the creation of DHI’s first division, a financial processing company dubbed FPS GOLD. Shortly afterwards, a Salt Lake City medical clinic reached out to DHI and requested medical data services. This brought about the creation of HPS (Healthcare Processing Systems) and eventually PCIS GOLD.
In September of 2005, DHI officially added GOLDPoint Systems as its fourth division to support its growing clientele in consumer finance.

For almost 20 years, GOLDPoint Systems (GPS) has been at the forefront of the loan management software industry by creating modern loan origination, loan servicing, accounting, and lending CRM products. Our products help lending institutions grow and increase revenue. On average, within the first year of conversion to GPS software, clients increase their loan portfolio by 19.25%. Post-conversion, clients have increased their open accounts by an average of 247%. Now that’s some great history!
