GOLDPoint’s Help Center: Now With More “How To”

Now that the Help Center is up and running for GOLDPoint Systems and its clients, the documentation team has been able to focus its long-term efforts on other ways to improve your help-seeking experience. One particularly exciting improvement in progress is strengthening GOLDPoint’s offering of task-based documentation and tutorials.

While our help database has always been stuffed to the brim with large volumes of information, it sometimes lacks basic instructions that teach the reader how to accomplish a task. Sure, the Bankruptcy Detail manual contains more information about the screen than a person would ever need…but sometimes a person just wants a simple step-by-step list that explains how to put a customer in bankruptcy, you know?

Well, we have good news: That list has been added to the Help Center! Along with an expanding repertoire of other topics and tools that make our documentation more user-friendly than ever before:

More “How To” Topics

We’re hard at work scouring the Help Center for screens, programs, and processes that could benefit from the addition of step-by-step “How To” topics. New topics have been created to explain tasks like:

  • Designing Callback and Variable screens
  • Attaching documents to accounts in File Services Plus
  • Paying off a loan
  • Undoing a bankruptcy
  • Adding employee and teller profiles to the system

…And more are being added as time goes on.

More Video Tutorials

As our library of “How To” topics grows, so too does our collection of video tutorials. Need instructions on how to complete an inter-office move but don’t want to deal with all that pesky reading? The Tutorials section on the Resources tab of the Help Center has you covered. Videos are fantastic resources for visual learners as well as anyone who is simply interested in watching an example task being completed in real time. This is especially helpful for more complicated tasks such as:

  • Creating engines, steps, and templates in the Automated Workflow Engine
  • Making a payment in EZPay
  • Setting up checklists
  • Defining security settings for employee profiles

…And, again, more are being added as time goes on.

New Search Filter: How To

Finally, with our collection of “How To” content growing, we decided it would be helpful to create a new search filter for the purpose of zeroing in on that specific type of content. The new How To filter in the Help Center will return only search results that contain tutorial videos or task-based instructions. Want to see if there are clear-cut directions for setting up field level security? Just punch the search phrase into the bar, select the filter, and see for yourself! (Spoiler alert: Yes, there are)

As time goes on, GOLDPoint clients can look forward to a Help Center that gets even more helpful each day. As always, we exist to serve our customers and cater to their specific needs.
